2016 Advice and tips

Our resorts bend over backwards for beginners, making skiing enjoyable, whatever your level. The creation of new easy runs and quiet skiing zones are topping the bill this season, ensuring there really is something for everyone.

New blue runs in Les 2 Alpes and Les Menuires

Les 2 Alpes has gone to exceptional lengths at substantial expense this winter, with the opening of a brand new run to enable beginners to ski back to resort. The whole ski area has been redesigned to make it easier to ski back to resort along a blue run that takes you from 3,600 metres to 1,600 metres (2,000 metre vertical drop); 12km of non-stop descent, suitable for everyone.

As well as a new beginner’s area, the latest news for 2015/2016 in Les Menuires is the creation of a blue run from the top of the Pointe de la Masse, making this iconic part of Les Menuires and Les Trois Vallées accessible to all.

«Cool zones» and «slow zones» for beginners

It’s good to learn to ski, but it’s even better to do it in a stress-free way. In recent years, our resorts have created beginner-friendly areas; quieter than most runs that are open to all skiers, these zones enable users to progress with total peace of mind, not having to worry about fast moving skiers behind them.

Take Les 2 Alpes for example; in the new «SLOW ZONE», signs bearing the words «Ski tranquille, Slow zone» mark out the domain’s «responsible skiing» areas, which are more regularly checked by the ski patrol team. In La Plagne, Les Lutins blue run is reserved specifically for children, featuring wooden sculptures and a tunnel with sound effects. As for Le Sauze, its «family skiing» zone also offers quiet skiing, with games for children based on slope safety.

Spring Skiing; an abundance of offers for beginners

Spring is the perfect time to learn to ski: with higher temperatures and lower prices, our resorts have come up with some amazing offers for beginners.

In Les Menuires, the « skiing for dummies» offer (satisfied or your money back) gives beginners 2 days to try the sport out for themselves and then decide if they want to continue or get their money back*. ESF ski lessons, equipment rental, accommodation and Skiing for Dummies guide: everything you need to learn and have fun. From 349 € per week and per person, from 20th March.

*Subject to terms and conditions.

The resort of La Clusaz also has a special offer for beginners: valid from 1st to 30th April, beginners get free ski lessons, free ski passes and 50% off their equipment rental.
