  • Events in the Alps

The Cyclocoeur (10th, 11th and 12th August)

This event suggests routes for mountain-biking and cyclo-touring rides at all levels, over one or two days, starting from Bourg-Saint-Maurice.Some of the routes are accessible to people with disabilities.All profits will be donated to the Cyclocoeur association.

The Gran Fondo Les Deux-Alpes (25th and 26th August)

On Saturday 25th August, there will be a 9 km time trial with an average ascent of 6.78% between the lac du Chambon and the Deux-Alpes ski resort. The following day will see a cyclo-sport road race with a choice of two courses.The longer one (164 km with an ascent of 3700 m) will see you climbing the cols d’Ornon and du Paquetout before the ascents of the Alpe du Grand Serre, de la Garde, du balcon d’Auris and the final climb of the Freney d’Oisans to Les Deux Alpes.The shorter course (75 km with an ascent of 1800 m) follows the first 20 kilometres of the longer course, before climbing to Villard-Reculas, going down Huez and la Garde, balcon d’Auris and finally the ascent of the Freney d’Oisans to Les Deux Alpes.

 

  • Events in the Vosges and Jura

The Louis Pasteur (26th August)

The race will take place on the same day as the Tour de l’Avenir stage in the region.For its 18th edition, the Louis Pasteur should benefit from the activity around this national event for young cyclists (19-23 years).Three courses are suggested - 172.5 km, 99 km and 74 km - leaving from Dôle in the Jura.

The Vosgienne (2nd September)

Every two years since 1996, the “Amicale cycliste de Thann” has organised a cyclo-sport event - the Vosgienne - which follows a 160 km course, with the ascents of mythical passes.   The major passes includethe cols du Hundsrück, the Ballon d’Alsace, the Col du page, the Col d’Oderen, the Route des Crêtes, Markstein, and the Hartmannswillerkopf pass after the Col Amic.

 

  • Events in the Massif Central

The Etape Sanfloraine (11th and 12th August)

Bernard Hinault is the patron of the 12th edition of the Sanfloraine stage - a 151 km cyclo-sport event from Saint-Flour in the Cantal. It follows the prologue the previous day, with the ascent of the Verdures.The major passes includethe col de Lagrifoul (1365 m) and the col du Plomb (1385 m).Other cyclo-tourist options are available for dreamers looking above all to enjoy the scenery, with the Margeolle (79 km) and the Ruynco (45 km) rides.
