A brief overview of the top activities to enjoy in the mountains this summer:

Adventure course at Isola 2000 (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence)

Rope bridges, climbing walls, zip lines… The Isoliane forest route proposes 48 courses within 3 routes that will test your balance and awaken your sense of adventure.  While mum accompanies the youngest on the kids’ route, dad can join the eldest on 200 metre-long zip lines suspended 50 metres above the river.

Interactive cultural heritage at Devoluy (Hautes-Alpes)

Discover the rich cultural heritage of Devoluy with the help of an electronic device, resembling a mobile phone, which provides testimonials, legends and photos to bring your experience to life…and set you on the trail to solving one of the forest’s greatest mysteries!

Llama rides at Valloire (Savoy)

Your children have already taken a ride on a donkey?  Here is something new: a walk accompanied by the llamas Tio and Chupango !  Silent mountain dwellers with coats of soft wool, these llamas love to be guided by your children while carrying your bags and provisions.  This tour takes place under the supervision of a qualified guide.

The Barefoot trail at Lac Blanc (Vosges)

Walking barefoot over dead leaves, pine needles, wood chips, gravel, etc., allows you to rediscover the unique sensations of the feet.  This original 1.2 km trail is dotted with sensory workshops for a fun and educational experience.  A water source in which to wash your feet awaits you at the end of the trail.

Segway tours at Métabief (Jura)

The Segway is an electric vehicle for one person, consisting of a platform on two wheels on which the user stands upright, a gyroscopic stabilisation system, and a handle for balance and steering.  Fun and easy to use, the segway is ideal for a tour with your family.

Mini-farm at Karellis (Savoy)

Goats, pigs, donkeys, ponies, hens…This summer, discover the new petting zoo at Karellis.  Numerous workshops with agricultural and animal themes, adapted to all ages, are on the agenda, along with donkey and pony rides.

Discover the driver in you at Font-Romeu (Eastern Pyrenees)

A go-cart without a motor?  You will find it in the mountains!  These non-motorized vehicles (dévalkart in French) are dedicated exclusively to the descent.  Challenge your children and experience the thrilling sensations of speed as you race downhill.  Then, take the chairlift to the top of the run and do it all again!

Explore the depths of the earth at La Mongie (Hautes-Pyrénées)

Looking for a way to get your children interested in geology?  You will find it in the caves of the Pyrenees! Explore narrow passages and discover easy climbs and natural slides in this speleological adventure, which will awaken your children’s natural curiosity and create lasting memories.

Observe marmots and bighorn sheep at Besse Super-Besse (Massif Central)

Get your kids moving with a hike in the mountains!  Climbing the Puy de Chambourguet will not only allow you to discover the beautiful volcanoes of Auvergne, but also to catch glimpses of the wildlife.  An hour and a quarter of walking is well worthwhile when such a reward awaits at the end!

Pram-adapted walks at l’Alpe du Grand Serre (Isère)

It is not always easy to take advantage of the mountains with infants or toddlers in tow… L’Alpe du Grand Serre had you in mind when it created specially-adapted walking trails for prams.  Five inviting itineraries allow you to experience this classic mountain activity, in the shade, on a smooth surface appropriate for the wheels of the pram.  Ideal for your baby’s first walk in the mountains!

Mystery walk at la Norma (Savoy)

This historical hike in the savoyard style at Fort de l’Esseillon is both fun and educational.  Participants discover clues with the help of a backpack full of useful tools, solving puzzles and even coming into contact with the ghost of Alessandro, an important figure in the legend of the fort…

Pamper your baby at Vaujany (Isère)

At Vaujany, osteopath-physiotherapists propose baby-massage courses for parents.  The pleasure for baby continues in the swimming pool, where heated paddling pools, family changing rooms equipped with changing tables, toys and inflatable armbands, and baby swimming classes facilitate your first vacation with a baby.

Family climbing at la Bresse Hohneck (Vosges)

Discover the joys of climbing from an early age, with initiations for kids 7 and up.  Depending on the weather, the two-hour session (10 euros, free with the Pack Loisirs Familles)  lead by a qualified instructor takes place outdoors or on an artificial climbing wall.  Kids, as well as their parents, will climb to the heights of their ambitions!

Treasure hunt at Combloux (Haute-Savoie)

Combloux is a lovely little village but for some time a wicked witch has been turning everything topsy-turvy…the names of the mountains and animals have been lost.  Can your kids succeed in putting the village back in order?  Snack is provided for all participants. 2 euros per child.

Picnic at the lake at Courchevel (Savoy)

Accessible by car or on foot, Lake La Rosière, at an altitude of 1555 metres, is the perfect spot for a family picnic.  The advantages?  A beach equipped for barbecues, as well as an orienteering trail with two possible departure points, not to mention numerous hiking trails and via ferrata for the more adventurous.
