Come and experience the magic of the heights, in a unique way that is accessible to the whole family.  Via ferrata has been a popular mountain activity in France since 1988.  A unique experience, via ferrata is a high-altitude hike that does not require the skills of mountain climbing.  A great activity to incorporate into your next family vacation.

Created in the early 20th century in the Dolomites for military purposes, via ferrata is now a can’t-miss experience accessible to all visitors of the mountain resorts.  Mountain routes equipped with ladders, stemples, cables and bridges, via ferrata allows the practitioner to cross rocky terrain and gain elevation without climbing equipment.  The « ferratiste » is protected by a helmet and a specialised harness, attached to a cable which follows the trail.  The equipment can be rented in all the mountain stations.  Safe yet exhilarating, via ferrata allows you to experience an unknown terrain, the incomparable sensation of being at high altitude, and the satisfaction of physical effort (yes, it does require some!)  Once the basic precautions have been looked after, the level has been established, and the safety equipment checked, all that remains is to enjoy the stunning landscape and take advantage of each moment as you journey over waterfalls, across rivers, down ladders plunging into small valleys, or over arial crossings with panoramic views.  An exciting and ‘accessible to all’ activity, via ferrata is not to be missed!

In France, there are over one hundred via ferrata routes, some of which are world renowned.  You will have a choice of different levels, from easy and accessible to all, to more challenging aerial adventures.  Certain routes offer different options for different levels, allowing practitioners of all levels to take advantage of the same incomparable landscapes.  Although a guide is recommended, it is possible to experience via ferrata independently, provided one is well informed about the levels of difficulty and the correct usage of the safety equipment.  The levels of difficulty range from F (easy), ideal for kids, up to ED (very difficult).  AD (moderately difficult) is the highest level recommended for beginners.  Once the right via ferrata route has been chosen, you are ready to experience the exhilaration of high altitude in total safety.  A wonderful family activity whichleaves unforgettable memories.
