The mountains are attracting more and more visitors each summer.  What is the reason for this success ?

It is true : this year, we registered a 10% increase in reservations for the summer season.  The summer is the best time to discover the mountains : unlike during ski season, one can find peace and quiet.  Especially when compared to the frenzy of the seaside during the summer season.  It is the perfect occasion to really get to know the establishments, which are less busy than in the winter, and to discover the wealth of possibilities offered.  And in addition, the summer season in the mountains is much more affordable.

What is the difference in price ?

We have determined that a summer vacation on the seaside is 45% more expensive than a holiday in our mountain accommodation.  Moreover, there is a marked difference in price between the summer and winter seasons in the mountains.  In July, the rental price for a 3-room flat (which can accommodate up to 6 persons) in our 5-star residence at Flaine costs

780 €.  In the winter, during high season, the price is 2212 €.  Similarly, for our residence at Belle Plagne, the cost for one week in the summer is 270 €, compared to 1045 € in the winter. And at Courchevel, 430 € in the summer compared to 2810 € in the winter.

What are the particularities of the summer season ?

In the winter, vacationers come almost exclusively to ski, although many also take advantage of the swimming facilities in all of the Pierre&Vacances residences and 65% of the Maeva residences (swimming pool in residence or access to swimming pool in resort.)  In the summer, access to the pools is also guaranteed, plus there is  a wider range of complimentary activities to choose from, such as sports, discovery of the region, aquatic and other activities, and guided nature walks.  In the Pierre&Vacances residences, vacationers have access to all of the activities of the resort through a Loisipass with a credit of 50€, which is included in the price of the accommodation.  In the Maeva residences, thematic outings, nature discovery tours, and sports tournaments are organised, always in collaboration with the local community.  It is this community that permits the discovery of the land.

Our residence des Arcs 1950 is conceived like a vacation resort, with a restaurant, cultural and athletic activities, etc.  This will be the location of the 38th classical music festival des Arcs, of which the theme is Russian music.

Finally, our Valmorel, Vars, and Les Coches residences are « recommended by kids », with three half-days of supervised activities.

What are your divisions of mountain residences ?

We have 11 Pierre&Vacances Premium residences, 28 Pierre&Vacances residences, et 50 Maevaresidences, of which 87 are situated in the Alps and 7 in the Pyrenees.
