2 techniques, it’s your choice!

Cross-country skiing can be carried out with two techniques.
The first, more traditional one is the “alternative step”, whichtakes its name from the alternate movement of the skis, transferring the weight of the skier from one ski to the other. The skis remain parallel as they slide along two prepared tracks on dedicated Nordic ski trails.
The second, “skating”, uses the principle of the movement of an ice or roller skate with two pushes with your arms for each leg movement.

Happiness is within skiing distance

Whether you want a leisurely outing or a sporting effort, just adapt your rhythm! If you are starting out, the classic technique is the easiest to learn, as it is similar to walking.  Skating requires good balance, and is more adapted for speed enthusiasts.

In the traces of Nordic skiing…

Nordic skiing has also inspired other disciplines such as ski jumping, biathlon (a combination of shooting with cross-country skiing) and the Nordic combined event (ski jumping with cross-country skiing).
